Tijuana, Mexico, September 11, 2015 - To begin with a victory is always a great motivation, according to coach Eduardo Murguia, whose team, Mexico had no problems in their opening match.
“We feel motivated and I think we got our first goal accomplished. There are still some things to do, to adjust, but having this first win it was important as we expected,” said Murguia after the 3-0 victory over Egypt.
“We worked hard during two weeks in a training camp here, played some scrimmage and friendly matches, and we expect this can pay off”, he added. “It is difficult, but we must go on against other rivals such as Turkey and Canada.”
Meanwhile captain Enrique Ugalde, recognized there were some anxiety to begin at home in front of their audience. “Sure we feel that, and had some problems in the second set, as the players of Egypt went out to improve, but I think they were also nervous,” He said.
“Fortunately, Gabriel (Martinez) came out and showed big and good hands when he got the bal. We are focused to be among the top eight teams,” the Mexican captain emphasized.
“Congratulations to Mexico, I have nothing left to say”, stated Grzegorz Rys coach of Egypt, while captain Ashraf Ellakany said: “It was not a good day for us. We had bad luck today. We did not played good but expect to improve in our nest matches”.
