Mexicali, Mexico, September 16, 2015 - Iran grabbed their second victory at the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship classification round for places 9 to 16.
The team coached by Farhad Nafarzadeh won in four sets by scores of 27-25, 18-25, 25-19 and 25-21 in 1 hour and 59 minutes.
Amin Esmaeilnezhad finished as top scorer for Iran with 17 points, while Verdian Sahand Allah scored 16 and Salim Cheperli ended with 10.
For Japan, Yuki Higuchi scored 14 and Kenta Takanashi 11, while Issei Otake finished with 10 as well as captain Tsubasa Hisahara.
Japan served so well with 7 collective aces against 5 by Iran, but the difference was in the blocking game. Iran were dominant 18-9 with Gilakershi Evazpour as thier best man in this department with 4 blocks.
